Discover the Hidden Gems of Rawah Ranch
Our website highlights many of the activities and experiences available at Rawah. Still, there are several hidden gems not featured on our website that can only be found when you visit our ranch in person. The hidden gems in Colorado at our guest ranch include an old-fashioned saloon, the Rawah Lodge, a cowboy cookout, a square dancing area, and kids’ teepee tents.
Whether you want to end the day with a game of poker or a square dance under a canopy of outdoor lights, there are five secret spots that make Rawah one-of-a-kind.
1. The Saloon
The saloon is a historic building located next to the horse stables on the property. The wooden bar inside features vintage signs encouraging you to kick off your boots and stay for a while. You can even try on some of the Western clothes behind the bar for some fun photo ops in the saloon. Several games are available inside, including shuffleboard, foosball, pool, darts, and poker. The saloon is an excellent place to end the day after a fun afternoon of ranch activities.
2. Rawah Lodge
The main lodge is the gathering area of the ranch, where you will eat meals and sign up for daily activities. The lodge is also the best place to hang out during the day, offering cozy couches, games, and reading material. Kick back and read a book by the fire, play a game of chess, or order a drink from the friendly bartender. At the back of the lodge, you will find a screened-in porch overlooking the Laramie River and the mountains. The porch is a scenic place to enjoy your morning cup of coffee and chat with other guests at the ranch.
3. Kids Teepee Tents
If you walk outside the screened-in porch at the back of the lodge, you will find the sitting area where we host campfires. Walk beyond the sitting area to access the trail that will take you across the river. Once you reach the end of the path, you will see two kids’ teepee tents surrounded by the rushing river. Head inside and hang out for a while with the kids!
4. Cowboy Cookout
We have dozens of trails, both on and off-site, for our guests to explore. Take the path next to the fishing lodge to access the unique cowboy cookout area. The cookout area offers picturesque views of the river and mountains. There is a fire pit area and picnic tables where you can relax, soak up the sunshine, feel the mountain breeze, and enjoy the view.
5. Square Dancing Stage
Next to the horse pastures, you will find our new square dancing stage canopied by lights. The stage is where our guests can join us for two-steppin’, line dancing, and live Western entertainment. We even have callers who come to the ranch and teach our guests how to dance!
