Rawah Guest Ranch is seeking a hard-working and dependable Chef to join our team for the 2025 season from May through October 15th. This is a unique opportunity to work in a close-knit, family-oriented atmosphere where teamwork and dedication are essential.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and serving high-quality Western cuisine, including nightly appetizers.
  • Weekly menus generally stay the same, with some exceptions, with guests and staff enjoying the meals.
  • Collaborating with a small, passionate team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized kitchen and ensuring food safety standards are met.

Your duties include preparing and presenting food, providing kitchen help, cleaning the prep area after meals, and keeping the kitchen clean. Assisting the Head Chef in the preparation of meals and in cooking specialty diet foods for our Guests and Staff Members.

The Server/Housekeeping team is one of the ranch’s most important aspects. They follow a weekly rotational schedule for housekeeping and waitstaff duties, but they also rotate for other tasks such as washing dishes, serving at the kids’ cookout, and assisting with ranch activities like hiking and line dancing.

The role of the Server/Housekeeping team in guest engagement is crucial. Whether they’re serving food, delivering towels, or leaving fun notes and riddles during their cleaning, their interactions with guests can significantly enhance the overall experience. Our guests are eager to connect with you, and these interactions can make their stay truly memorable. Rawah Ranch is a wonderful place to forge lifelong friendships and enjoy an exciting, unforgettable summer.

Key Responsibilities: for Housekeeping/Server

Server Responsibilities:

  • Set up and distribute Morning coffee to cabins to guest
  • Greet guests and take food and beverage orders in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure accurate and timely delivery of food and drinks to guest tables.
  • Set up and clean dining areas before and after service, including tables, chairs, and linens.
  • Work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff to ensure a smooth flow of service.
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in the dining area.
  • Handle customer inquiries
  • Assist in packing items for our cookouts and inventory management, ensuring adequate stock of dining supplies.

 

Housekeeper Responsibilities:

  • Clean and maintain guest rooms, cabins, bathrooms, and common areas to meet guest satisfaction and cleanliness standards.
  • Make beds, change linens, and replace towels as needed.
  • Vacuum, dust, and sanitize surfaces to maintain a pristine environment.
  • Replenish toiletries, amenities, and supplies in guest rooms.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and other surfaces to a high standard.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify supervisor when stock is low.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including washing, drying, and folding linens and towels.
  • Report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate team member.
  • Ensure that all areas of the ranch are welcoming and spotless for guest arrivals.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing for special events or group bookings, including meal service, setting up dining areas, and preparing cabins or rooms.
  • Help with outdoor and ranch activities as needed (i.e., guiding guests, participating in events, etc.). Making Sandwiches for guests for all day horseback rides or all day fly fishing trips
  • Ensure that all guest interactions reflect the ranch’s commitment to hospitality and positive experiences.
  • Follow safety and cleanliness protocols, ensuring that both guests and staff have a safe environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Ranch Manager or Operations Manager.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in food service, hospitality, or housekeeping is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a positive, friendly attitude.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Must be physically able to perform tasks, including lifting and moving furniture, standing for extended periods, and performing cleaning duties.
  • Flexible schedule, with availability for evenings, and weekends.
  • Must be comfortable working in a rural, outdoor environment and be willing to engage in ranch activities.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and housekeeping protocols is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 -50 lbs.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Our dedicated fly-fishing guides/maintenance team plays a vital role in enhancing the ranch experience for our guests while ensuring the well-being of the fish. Their expertise and commitment make every visit unforgettable.

At Rawah Guest Ranch, you’ll find a work environment unlike any other. Our team is not just a group of colleagues but a close-knit family dedicated to delivering exceptional service and creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. As a Fly Fishing Guide/Maintenance worker, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the Guest experience at our ranch. 

Our fishing guides are not just about guiding guests to the right spot. They are the guardians of the river’s health, ensuring the well-being of the fish that inhabit the waters behind our lodge and in our high-mountain lakes. Their experience in guiding guests with the right fly, rod, and string is crucial, but so is their ability to provide a memorable time on the water.  

Rawah’s Fishing Guides play a crucial role in caring for the river, ensuring it is not overfished and treating the fish with respect. They also serve as our maintenance team, contributing to the overall upkeep of the ranch. This dual role underscores the value we place on our staff, making Rawah Ranch a rewarding experience for both our guests and our team.

Fly Fishing Guide Duties:

  • Provide guided fly-fishing experiences to guests of all skill levels in nearby rivers, lakes, and streams.
  • Offer instruction in casting techniques, fly selection, and safe practices while fishing.
  • Share knowledge about the local ecology, fish species, and conservation efforts.
  • Ensure guests have the proper gear and equipment and assist with any necessary setups or adjustments.
  • Maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for guests throughout the fishing experience.
  • Foster a welcoming, friendly, and informative rapport with guests to enhance their experience.
  • Ability to show and demonstrate Fly Tying to guests and help them learn the skill

 

Maintenance Worker Duties:

  • Perform general groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, and maintaining trails and outdoor spaces.
  • Maintain ranch facilities, including cabins, barns, and common areas (cleaning, repairs, upkeep).
  • Assist with maintaining fishing equipment (rods, reels, tackle) and other outdoor gear.
  • Perform minor repairs to fences, buildings, and outdoor structures.
  • Ensure that all equipment used for fly fishing and other activities is in good working condition and ready for use.
  • Collaborate with other team members to identify and address maintenance needs throughout the ranch.
  • Assist with seasonal preparations such as preparing fishing areas and setting up outdoor areas for guests.

 

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience and proficiency in fly fishing (preferably in Colorado’s rivers and lakes).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to engage with guests of diverse backgrounds.
  • Basic knowledge of outdoor safety and first aid.
  • Ability to perform light maintenance and physical labor (lifting, equipment handling, etc.).
  • Knowledge of ranch work, such as general repairs and groundskeeping, is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Friendly, reliable, and enthusiastic about sharing the outdoors with guests.
  • Previous guiding experience or working in a customer service capacity is an advantage.
  • Willingness to work long hours in varying weather conditions.

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to hike long distances and carry fishing equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and perform physical tasks (lifting, bending, etc.).
  • Must have the stamina and physical fitness to guide fishing trips and engage in maintenance work.

The Office Administrator plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and ensuring a seamless experience for all guests. From the initial discovery of Rawah Ranch to post-stay follow-up, the Office Administrator is the central point of contact for guests and the staff. The responsibilities include:

  • Guest Inquiries & Reservations: Manage guest inquiries, providing information on availability, services, and activities. Book reservations and ensure all details are accurately captured.
  • Check-In & Check-Out: Greet guests upon arrival, facilitate smooth check-ins, and process check-outs efficiently while ensuring that all guest needs are met.
  • Guest Information Management: Collect and organize pertinent guest information, ensuring it is accurately distributed to relevant departments for further coordination.
  • Activity & Event Coordination: Book ranch activities for guests, ensuring all requests are accommodated. Organize special events as requested, ensuring flawless execution.
  • Communication Hub: This hub serves as the overall link between guests and staff, relaying important information and ensuring a smooth flow of communication to meet guest needs.
  • Customer Service Excellence: Provide high levels of customer service, anticipating and addressing guest needs to ensure a welcoming and memorable experience.

 

Qualifications:

To thrive as a Wrangler, it’s essential to possess a solid background in horseback riding coupled with outstanding interpersonal skills. As a Wrangler, your primary duties will revolve around the care and maintenance of our magnificent horses, ensuring they are healthy, happy, and well-groomed. You will guide guests on unforgettable riding experiences, catering to riders of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced equestrians, creating a memorable adventure for every participant.

In addition to your riding duties, you will also play an integral role in the day-to-day operations of our ranch. Flexibility and a willingness to learn are crucial, as effective teamwork is at the heart of what we do. All staff members are important in maintaining the ranch’s inviting atmosphere, which includes assisting with cleaning cabins and completing various tasks to prepare for guest check-out.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Horse Care: Daily grooming, feeding, and maintaining the overall health and wellness of the horses.
  • Trail Rides: Lead and guide guests on horseback riding adventures, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience.
  • Training: Assist with training and conditioning horses for ranch activities and trail rides, ensuring they are ready for both beginners and experienced riders.
  • Safety: Maintain a safe environment for guests and horses. This includes checking tack, equipment, and ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
  • Guest Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service by engaging with guests, offering riding instruction, answering questions, and ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and maintain saddles, bridles, and other equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Ranch Assistance: Assist with general ranch operations such as corralling, pasture management, feeding, and mucking out stables.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with fellow wranglers, ranch staff, and management to ensure the smooth operation of the ranch and provide guests with an unforgettable experience.
  • Working with Housekeeping Staff on Turnover days: On turnover days (Saturdays and Wednesdays), all hands are on deck. Wranglers will assist in cleaning cabins to prepare for the following week’s guests.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience working with horses, ideally in a ranch, stable, or similar outdoor environment.
  • Skills: Ability to ride and handle horses of various temperaments, familiarity with horseback riding techniques, and comfort with a variety of tasks.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact positively with guests of all ages and backgrounds.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to work long hours outdoors in various weather conditions. The role requires stamina for long rides and manual labor tasks.
  • Safety Conscious: Knowledge of safety protocols for both guests and horses, including proper riding and handling techniques.

    • Please note that if partying (drinking, recreational drugs, etc.) is a focus for you, you are not the right fit for us.
    • The ranch provides onsite meals and shared housing accommodations.
    • We will provide bedding, pillows, and towels. However, you can bring your own if you prefer.
    • The staff has access to the ranch laundry facilities.
    • Our staff is served the same meals as the guests. We eat breakfast together as a staff, and unless serving, enjoy lunch and dinner with the guests.
    • There is a $150.00 deposit due upon your first paycheck; if you leave your room as you found it, clean, swept, and ready for shutdown, and you fulfill your contract dates, you then receive your $150.00 back on your last paycheck.
    • There is a tip pool we will be collecting as guests leave the ranch. This will be pooled and calculated according to how many days you work, and if you have fulfilled your contract, this will be distributed on a separate check as your tip check again if your contract dates have been fulfilled.

    Over the years, our staff have had some wonderful adventures and made lasting memories both on and off the ranch. During non-working hours, you are welcome to enjoy the ranch facilities, horseback riding, hiking, or fishing the many tributaries in the area. You are also welcome to join in the trail rides during your off time. And, of course, being in Northern Colorado, you can easily enjoy Fort Collins, Steamboat, Laramie, and other fantastic areas around Colorado and Wyoming.
