Water flow: 68 cfs

Visibility: 60 inches

Water temperature at mid-day: 48 Degrees F

Water condition: Clear

Best time of day to fish: As temperatures cool down, the fish activity can actually benefit from warmer later parts of the day. As a result getting on the water a little later doesn’t hurt.

Best stretch: Rawah Ranch downstream to Diamondtail Ranch – ALL PRIVATE. Limited public access at bridge near Honholtz’s lakes – Crowded

Fly fishing hatches in order of importance:

BWO #16 – #22 Grey midge – #20 – #22 Buggers – White, Olive, Black

Fishing continues to be excellent throughout the day however with late summer/early fall stream flows fish are wary and stealthy approaches are a must. We have had a lot of success here on the ranch waters with working out of the river and sight casting to fish along the banks and in runs that our anglers can reach. Heavy Caddis hatches continue and emerger patterns seem to work best. Grasshoppers are here but there does not seem to be a lot of them. Success on hopper patterns has been intermittent.

Water flow: 149 cfs

Visibility: 60 inches

Water temperature at mid-day: 48 Degrees F

Water condition: Clear

Best time of day to fish: With the bright sunny days now upon us we have been fishing early morning to mid- morning and again

Best stretch: Rawah Ranch downstream to Diamondtail Ranch – ALL PRIVATE. Limited public access at bridge near Honholtz’s lakes – Crowded

Fly fishing hatches in order of importance:

BWO #16 – #22 Grey midge – #20 – #22 Beetles – #12 – #18 HOPPERS!! – green, orange and brown bodies are working best!
